Destination & Site Selection During and Beyond COVID-19
 Few things about selecting and inspecting destinations and sites, and relooking at destinations and sites where contracts are signed and meetings going forward in 2020 and beyond, are what they were. Since more became aware of COVID-19, and there are daily changes in what countries, cities, states, and specific properties are instituting, we have had to re-think what to consider for meetings that will physically happen. Sure, some still are using the same RFPs they used, and properties and cities will have not updated their websites or proposal formats. Yet, we can and must begin to think differently taking more into consideration. We will look at the considerations for new meetings and those going forward. It’s what isn’t asked, seen or shown that can hurt us once a contract is negotiated and the meeting occurs. It’s what the parties take for granted—what surely “everyone knows”—that becomes a surprise when we arrive onsite for the meeting.
